George and Edward Ripley move from Halifax to Bowling near Bradford. George Ripley goes intobusiness with William Walton. Edward Ripley marries Anne Murgatroyd, the daughter of a cotton merchant. Henry William Ripley is born (son of Edward and Anne). The company George Ripley and Son, Dyers is founded. George Ripley dies and the company is re-named Edward Ripley and Sons. Wool-cotton mixtures require dyeing, and Edward begins to experiment with the dyeing process.

 
  Ripley Ville is built, a modern village, for workers to buy their homes. Henry Ripley is elected as a Member of Parliament. For a second time, Henry is elected for Parliament. Henry is defeated in election. Henry is made a baronet, and known as Sir Henry Ripley. Sir Henry Ripley dies. Ripley Dyeworks is owned by Sir Edward Ripley
